Filter and customize your change calendar

You can filter change events (work items, maintenance, and freeze windows) by work item fields, event types, and metadata like creator or status, making it easier to track changes, avoid conflicts, and monitor maintenance and freeze windows across your organization.

Project admins can also define a default calendar view for their team by adjusting the JQL filters and selecting Set view as default option. Once set, this default view is shown to all users in the service project whenever they open the change calendar. Users can still modify the calendar filters for their own session.

Use JQL to filter change calendar events

You can use the built-in JQL (Jira Query Language) builder to:

  • Search by any Jira work item field, such as assignee, status, reporter, or summary.

  • Filter by Assets object fields, affected services, or custom fields.

  • Search with work item keys to instantly find a change.

Change calendar has filtering options to help you control what you see and focus on the change activity that matters the most.

As you build or update your query, the calendar updates in real time to reflect matching items. The browser URL also updates with your query so you can refresh or share the view with your team.

Show or hide change windows

Use the event type filter to show change windows on the change calendar. You can show or hide:

  • Maintenance windows

  • Freeze windows

You can also subscribe to your change calendar to view change activities from your personal calendar, and share it with teammates, even if they don’t have a Jira Service Management license. Read how to subscribe to change calendar from your external calendar.
