Optimize work types per space
The site optimizer helps Jira administrators identify work type schemes approaching or exceeding the work type limit and remove work types that aren’t used by their associated spaces.
A space can have up to 150 work types through its associated work type scheme. If a space reaches the limit, admins can’t associate additional work types until its configuration is reduced. Existing work types and work items remain available.
This feature is available only on Jira Premium and Enterprise plans. Jira admin permissions are required.
To review work type schemes:
Select Settings (), then select System.
Select Site optimizer.
In the Limits section, find Work types per scheme, and select Review.
The Optimize work type schemes page shows each scheme’s name, associated spaces, limit status, work type usage, and available action. You can also search for a scheme by name.
Select Optimize next to a scheme to review:
the number of work types in the scheme
the number of unused work types
the potential reduction
To remove unused work types:
Select Review actions.
Review the work types recommended for removal and the spaces using the scheme.
Select Download details to save a record of the recommendation (optional).
Select Remove work types.
A work type is recommended for removal when it isn’t used by any space associated with the scheme. If a scheme is shared, removing a work type affects every space using that scheme. The work type may remain available through other schemes.
