Create work items with Rovo

Create work items with Rovo using natural language on an AI-powered canvas. You can tell Rovo what you want to achieve, add a link for more context (optional), and give any specific instructions about work types or spaces. Rovo will generate a set of suggested work items for you to review, refine, and then add to your space.

Create work items with Rovo

You can create work with Rovo by entering a command into Rovo Chat.

Create work via Rovo Chat

1. Start in your Jira software or business space.

2. Select Ask Rovo and enter /create-work-items followed by a description of what you want to achieve (for example, “create an epic with tasks for a marketing campaign,” or maybe “just create tasks”). Include any relevant links, and specify the target Jira space where you want the work items to be created.

3. Rovo will display a list of potential work items, including summaries and descriptions, within the chat window. Select Preview to open up the AI-powered canvas for a more detailed view.

4. Edit fields directly in the canvas, or use chat to ask Rovo for changes (for example, “make the descriptions more concise,” “split this work item”, or “add acceptance criteria”). Please note, some fields may not yet be supported.

5. Select Create all to add the suggested work items to your Jira space.
