What is the summary view?

A new Summary view is currently in beta. It brings together an overview of your work, recent activity, and Rovo conversation starters. In the new experience, charts and gadgets move to Reports, where you can customize a space dashboard. Select Go to Reports or Try Reports in the beta banner to open or add the view.

If you’re not in the beta, your Summary view and the existing chart guidance below remain unchanged.

Jira admins can manage beta features by selecting Settings (), then System, and then Beta features. How to enable and disable beta features

The summary view provides a high-level overview of your team’s work in a space. It helps you monitor your team’s delivery pulse, understand workload, and discover and set up agents, automations, integrations, and workflows relevant to your space.

Enable or disable the space summary

The summary view is enabled by default in all spaces.

Only space admins can enable and disable features on a space.

To disable the summary in a software space:

  1. Next to the name of your space in the sidebar, select More actions (•••), then Space settings.

  2. Select Features.

  3. Select the toggle to the right of Summary.

You can re-enable the summary at any time from Space settings.

View the space summary

To view your space summary (assuming it’s enabled), navigate to your space, then select Summary.

Keep reading to discover what each section means in your space’s summary.

The sections and recommendations available in the summary can vary based on your space’s activity, configuration, and connected capabilities.

Work pulse

The work pulse gives you a quick view of your space's current delivery activity. It uses recent activity to show whether your space is empty, dormant, off track, or on track.

The work pulse can include:

  • Intake: Work items created in the space in the last seven days.

  • Triage: Work items that have not been started yet.

  • Execute: Work items that are currently in progress.

  • Delivery: Work items moved to Done in the last seven days.

The description at the top of the work pulse changes based on activity in your space. For example:

  • Empty: Add work items to start tracking your team’s delivery pulse.

  • Dormant: Your space has been quiet recently. Use the summary to find a next step.

  • Off track: Several work items are stale. Review them to help clear the path for your team.

  • On track: Your delivery pulse is steady and work is flowing.

Work item badges in the work pulse

As part of the work pulse, the summary can highlight work items that may need attention. These badges can include items awaiting triage, stale work, or other signals based on activity in your space.

Select a badge to review the work items included in that signal.

Recommendations

The summary recommends agents, automations, integrations, and workflows based on your space. Recommendations are designed to help you discover relevant capabilities and set them up with context from your team’s work.

Recommendations can include:

  • A current signal from your space.

  • A description of what the recommendation does.

  • A See how it works link.

  • An action to set up or connect the recommended capability.

The recommendations shown can vary depending on the activity and configuration of your space. New spaces may see recommendations focused on getting started. Existing spaces may see recommendations focused on improving delivery and maintaining momentum.

Filter the space summary

Filtering is available in the summary view, so you can customize your view to show the information that’s most relevant to you.

To filter the data in your summary:

  1. Select Filter.

  2. Choose a filter and select the data you want to see in your customized summary.

You can filter by the following:

  • Date range: View data for all the work items that were created, updated, or due within a particular time period.

  • Assignee: View data for all the work items that are assigned to one or more people, or are unassigned.

  • Work type: View data for one or more specific work types.
